Acciaiolo Castle in
Scandicci (FI)

The Municipality of Scandicci has made available to MITA Academy the prestigious venue of Acciaiolo Castle, in Via Pantin. After centuries of history and many owners, in 2011 the imposing building became the activity hub of MITA.

The castle, dating back to the mid-14th century, is surrounded by greenery only a stone’s throw away from the centre of Scandicci. The town is easily accessible from the centre of Florence, either by car or tramway. The beauty of the location is a source of inspiration for our students, who attend practical and theorical classes in an exceptional setting.

We have provided our students with a multifunctional space, which includes many laboratories and state-of-the-art equipment, along with a large external area that can host different kinds of events.

The building includes a wide range of facilities, such as:
– a library;
– multimedia classrooms available to students;
– classrooms and laboratories;
– spacious garden / auditorium

In accordance with the Italian Government’s provisions to counter the spread of Covid-19, the whole building is regularly sanitized. In addition, our students are provided daily with disposable visors, lab coats, gloves and masks. The dispensers of hand sanitizer are placed in many strategic points of the campus, and we require all visitors to have their temperature measured.

The same security measures are applied at our professional leather workshop, which is located in the industrial area of Scandicci, and at all our sites across Tuscany.

We have established coordinated sites in Prato, Grosseto, Lucca, Capannori (LU), Firenze and Piancastagnaio (Siena), to deliver courses that range from fashion marketing to accessories production. New delegations and offices might be set up in other Provinces.
